ALERT: SCAM PHONE CALLS BY USCIS IMPOSTERS

WARNING – USCIS has recently issued an alert to the public about individuals calling as government officials or law enforcement officers and threatening deportation. These scam callers will indicate more information is required to continue the immigration process and demand payment in the form of a money transfer or money order to fix any problems with your case and avoid deportation. USCIS will NEVER call you and ask for any form of payment over the phone or in e-mail. Should USCIS require more information or payment, they will send a letter to the Attorney of Record on official stationary.

If you receive a call claiming to be from USCIS asking for payment, hang up the phone immediately and please alert the Federal Trade Commission at http://1.usa.gov/1suOHSS. If you receive a suspicious email or voice message and are not sure if it is a scam, forward it to the USCIS Webmaster at uscis.webmaster@uscis.dhs.gov. U.S. immigration is polluted with scams and hustles – be a smart consumer – don’t get scammed.
